CordBase vs Raid-Helper, Apollo and Sesh for event signups

Written by the CordBase team. Competitor prices and features checked against their own sites; see sources below.

The short answer

For scheduling a single event with RSVP buttons, reminders, timezones and calendar sync, use an event bot: Raid-Helper for MMO raid rosters, Apollo or Sesh for general events. CordBase has none of those features. It's useful next to them when you need a lasting record across events, like attendance history, a standing roster with custom fields, or points per raid.

What event bots do well

They're built around the event post. Raid-Helper is the standard for MMO raids: members sign up with a class and role from an embed, and Premium adds recurring events, reminders, custom templates and composition tools; Premium is sold as non-renewing passes per server, from €10 (3 months) to €55 (lifetime) (Raid-Helper). Apollo's free plan includes unlimited events, five recurring events, capacity limits and waitlists, with Premium at $8 a month (Apollo). Sesh does events, RSVPs, polls and reminders for free, and Premium ($6.99 a month for one server, billed annually) adds recurring events and two-way Google Calendar sync (Sesh).

CordBase has no event posts, no RSVP buttons, no reminders and no timezone handling. If those are what you need, don't use CordBase for them.

Where a table helps

Event bots are organized around the event post. Questions that span many events can be harder to answer there: who attended the last eight raids, which healers are available this month, who has the most event wins this season. That's table-shaped data.

With CordBase's Raid Signup template (player, role, class, available, signup date) members run /raid-signup add and officers run /raid-signup query role:Healer available:True to see who can heal. An attendance table with member, event and date columns builds a history you can query any time, and a number column with _mode:Increment turns it into a points system with a leaderboard.

On Pro you can also schedule a weekly or monthly summary post with the row count and the top five rows by the table's first number column.

Choose Event bots if

  • You're scheduling events and want RSVP buttons, reminders and calendar sync.
  • You run MMO raids and want class/role signups on the event post.
  • Each event stands alone.

Choose CordBase if

  • You need attendance or participation history across many events.
  • You want custom fields an event bot doesn't offer.
  • You want points or a leaderboard tied to events.

Questions

Can CordBase post an event with RSVP buttons?

No. CordBase has no event posts, RSVP buttons or reminders. Use Raid-Helper, Apollo or Sesh for that, and CordBase for records that span events.

What's the best Discord bot for raid signups?

Raid-Helper is the most common choice for MMO raids because class and role signups are its core feature. CordBase's Raid Signup template is a simpler, table-based alternative when you also want to query availability or keep history.

Can I track event attendance over time?

Yes. Make a table with member, event and date columns and add a row per attendee, then query it by member or event.
